Meth lab found in Cortland County

CORTLAND COUNTY -- Cortland County Sheriffs found a meth lab in a house on McGraw Marathon Road in the town of Freetown during the execution of a search warrant.

Sheriffs referred to it as an “active lab” and arrested Harold (John) J. Young, 47, and Estelle L. Young, 41, and charged them with two counts of 3rd degree Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine, a felony.

They were also charged with 5th degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of precursors to methamphetamine, felonies and 5th degree conspiracy, a misdemeanor.

They were arraigned in the Town of Cortlandville Court and remain in jail under $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.

Sheriffs say an investigation is ongoing.
