Syracuse YMCA throat slashing suspect is armed and dangerous

SYRACUSE -- Three days after a violent attack at the downtown Syracuse YMCA on Montogmery Street, Syracuse Police want assistance in locating the suspect who is responsible for slashing another man's throat.

The suspect has been identified as English Rogers, 50. He is a black male, 5'11 tall, 235 lbs. Rogers last known address was the YMCA 340 Montgomery St. He is also known as: Amos Rogers and Leverne Rogers.

The Assault and stabbing happened Saturday October 13, 2012 at 12:30pm, at 340 Montgomery St. The victim's neck was slashed and he is in critical condition.

Rogers should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone encountering Rogers should use caution and notify the Syracuse Police Criminal Investigations Division at 442-5222 or call 911 immediately.
