SYRACUSE -- Eighty Airmen from the 174th Attack Wing of the Air National Guard will head to New York City to help with recovery efforts. Major Jeff Brown says the members are driving up to Fort Drum in Jefferson County this morning to pick up forty military Humvees. The 174th members will leave from Hancock Field in Syracuse on Tuesday afternoon.

Major Brown says the Airmen will likely be in New York City for seven to ten days. They will be stationed at Camp Smith, a New York Army National Guard base about an hour north of Manhattan.
