SYRACUSE -- The holiday spirit has arrived in downtown Syracuse.

This year's Christmas tree was delivered to Clinton Square Monday morning.

The tree, donated by Wegmans, came from their Thompson Road property. It will be the centerpiece of this year's "Home for the Holiday's Celebration" later this month.

Crews arrived in the parking lot at the corner of Thompson Road and James Street around 8 a.m. A crane, donated by C&S companies, and a tractor trailer rig, donated by Ricelli Enterprises, was used to bring the tree downtown. The tree traveled from James Street to Thompson Road to 690 Westbound to 81 North. It could then be seen exiting at Court Street, turning onto Salina Street and arriving in Clinton Square.

The public will gather for the lighting of the tree on November 23.
