Tuesday is Election Day in Central New York and across the country. After what seems like an endless campaign, it's now in the hands of the voters.

Races across Central New York, and the presidential election, are expected to be close. CNY Central will have all of your local election coverage and results as they come in. After the presidential contest, the highest profile race in the greater Syracuse area is the one for the 24th congressional district seat.
Below are a few of the Central New York races we’ll be watching closely tonight:
24th Congressional District: The race between incumbent Rep. Ann Marie Buerkle (R), Dan Maffei (D), and Ursula Rozum (G) has been considered one of the most competitive congressional races in the country. Recent polls showed Buerkle and Maffei in a virtual dead heat. Maffei was Congressman of the now 24th District from 2008-2010 and lost the seat to Buerkle by less than 1,000 votes in an election that was at first too close to call.
127th Assembly District: The race between incumbent Don Miller (R) and Al Stripe (D) is also expected to be a very close race. Stripe was New York State Assemblyman for the now 127th Assembly District from 2006 to 2010. He lost the seat to Don Miller (R) in 2010. According to Democracy Wise, the race came down to less than 1,000 votes.

Democrat Dan Maffei is projected to oust incumbent Republican Ann Marie Buerkle in New York's newly drawn 24th Congressional District.
Al Stirpe (D) defeated incumbent Don Miller (R) for the New York State Assembly seat in the 127th District. Stirpe lost the seat to Miller in 2010 and won it back on Tuesday.
U.S. Senate: Democratic U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand has won election to her first full term representing New York, fending off a challenge from Republican Wendy Long.
Julie Cecile was elected as Onondaga Family Court Judge.
President Barack Obama is the projected winner of the Presidency of the United States after being projected to win the battleground states of Ohio and Iowa.
