SYRACUSE -- At about 7:00 on Monday night,a three vehicle accident happened on 690 westbound near the West Street exit ramp.

A tractor trailer, being driven by 47-year-old Ronald Randall of Chittenango, told police that a vehicle cut him off and forced him to switch lanes, striking a 2002 Dodge minivan with a 31-year-old female driver.  There were two passengers in the minivan, a 39-year-old and 43-year-old man.  All three people in the minivan were taken to Upstate hospital for, what Syracuse Police say in an email, appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

A 2002 Pontiac Firebird, driven by 22-year-old Steven Karnyski of Lancaster, New York, was sideswiped by the tractor trailer, as well.  He was not injured.

No tickets were issued and the names of the injured people are being withheld until their families have been notified.

The affected area of 690 westbound was closed for about two and a half hours.
