ITHACA -- An Ithaca woman was arraigned Monday on charges in connection to the shooting of Ithaca Police Officer Anthony Augustine in October.
Augustine was shot in the left chest area after a police chase ensued over a stolen car. The chase ended in a wooded area near Elmcrest Circle in Ithaca. Police arrested Jamel A. Booker and charged him with shooting Augustine.
Ithaca Police say they arrested 35-year-old Kimberly J. Harden, last Wednesday, November 21, on a felony charge of hindering prosecution. Harden was was arraigned Monday and sent to the Tompkins County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
The Ithaca Police say the arrest was issued by the Tompkins County Superior Court. Harden had previously been indicted by a Tompkins County Grand Jury.
Her arrest and charges stem from allegations that she gave assistance to Booker over the course of the incident involving the shooting of Augustine.
Booker was previously indicted by a Tompkins County Grand Jury. He was charged with aggravated assault of a police officer and criminal use of a fire arm.
Booker is scheduled to be arraigned on November 28 in Tompkins County Superior Court on multiple charges, including attempted murder, assault, and aggravated assault on a police officer.
