A Weedsport man is charged with robbing a bank.

Cayuga County Sheriff's deputies say 64-year-old Michael Burr, of 8939 Oakland St., robbed The First Niagara Bank at 9015 N. Seneca St. Tuesday morning.

Deputies say Burr walked into the bank around 10 a.m., said he had a gun and demanded cash from a bank employee. He did not show a weapon. Deputies say he took off without cash.

Burr was taken into custody a short time later.

He is charged with robbery, a felony. He was arraigned in the Village of Weedsport Court and sent to the Cayuga County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
