TOWN OF VOLNEY -- Two Syracuse men are charged in a road rage crash in Oswego County.

It happened around 6:40 p.m. Wednesday on SR 481 in the Town of Volney.

Oswego County Sheriff's deputies say 30-year-old Dale Fauvelle, of 127 Dorwin Avenue, was driving a 1992 Jeep suburban on SR 481 just south of CR 57.

Deputies say he and 34-year-old Thomas Merriett, of 148 Lynwood Avenue, were engaged in road rage, passing each other. They say Merritt was trying to drive his car away from the jeep, driving at a high rate of speed then hit his brakes to slow the vehicle causing the Jeep to almost rear end the other car.

Deputies say Fauvelle hit the side of Merriett's car, causing his own car to drive in the median and flip over.

Both men were issued tickets for speed not reasonable and reckless driving. They are scheduled to be back in court on January 3.
