CONSTANTIA -- A Constantia man was charged with driving while intoxicated after crashing into a home on Grannis Road in Constantia.

Deputies say they arrested William K. Dill, 50, around 5:58 a.m. Saturday morning.

Dill apparently lost control of his 2003 Ford Explorer about one tenth of a mile east of Slosson Road. His vehicle reportedly left the north side of the road, hit a guide wire to a utility pole, ran through numerous trees, and into a residence at 270 Grannis Road, and came to rest on the lawn.

Deputies say Dill was reportedly trapped in the driver’s seat and had to be extracted from the vehicle. He was taken by ambulance to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.

Dill was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right, and speed not reasonable and prudent. He was issued tickets returnable to Town of Constantia Court on January 21, 2013.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
