DEWITT -- No one was hurt in a fire that broke out late Wednesday morning at the Jamesville-DeWitt School District bus garage. The first call came into 911 at 11:15 a.m.

The building is located near the high school on Edinger Drive.

People in the building smelled smoke, saw smoke, left the building and pulled the fire alarm.

The fire was concentrated in a maintenance storage area. Crews say concrete cinder block firewall stopped the fire from burning the buses. A snowplow and maintenance equipment was destroyed.

Firefighters were pulled from the building and were working from outside only.

There is some smoke damage to the building.

School will continue as usual Wednesday and Thursday.
