Syracuse University football players Marquis Spruill and Steve Rene appeared in Syracuse City Court with their lawyer on Wednesday afternoon, both facing charges stemming from a scuffle with police earlier this month.

Assistant District Attorney Matthew Bloss indicated that he's looking for a plea of "guilty as charged", but needed more time to talk to witnesses and police officers. The case was adjourned until January 30.

Spruill is facing second-degree harassment and disorderly conduct charges, while Rene is facing charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. They allegedly got into a physical confrontation with Syracuse police at the intersection of Euclid and Livingston Avenues in the early hours of December 2nd.

Doug Marrone has said that both players are eligible for the Orange in the Pinstripe Bowl on December 29th, but there is no indication if they'll actually get to play.
