FORESTPORT -- A Pine Bush man is dead after a snowmobile accident in the Oneida County Town of Forestport.
New York State Police in Old Forge are investigating the accident that happened 10:25pm on January 4th.
Troopers say 23-year-old Richard Petty was one of seven riders in a group traveling on River Road.
Troopers say Petty was traveling at an unsafe speed when he hit a snow bank and flew off his sled. Petty hit a tree head-first, sustaining a massive injury.
Petty later died at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
