SYRACUSE -- The Grand Marshall for the Syracuse St. Patrick’s Parade was announced Thursday morning. The honor for this year’s parade goes to Thomas Maroney, a professor of law at Syracuse University.

Maroney is a first generation Irish-American, and he graduated from St. John the Baptist Academy. He is also graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Syracuse University College of Law. He is a former Assistant State Attorney General in charge of the Syracuse office and a former U.S. attorney.

Maroney presently works as a labor arbitrator for the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service.

The parade will be March 9 at noon in Downtown Syracuse.
