SYRACUSE -- The first season for the Syracuse Orange football team in the ACC is taking shape, even while the coaching staff has vacant spots to fill.

The Atlantic Coast Conference announced their football match-ups today, and the Orange will have at least one opponent that it is familiar with, at least in recent years.

The Orange will renew their rivalry with Boston College at the Dome, as well as hosting perennial power-house Clemson and Wake Forrest. They will get their one taste of the former Big East with a division crossover game at the Carrier Dome against Pitt.

On the road, the SU will take on Florida State at Bobby Bowden field, Maryland and North Carolina State. The Orange will also play their division crossover road game against Georgia Tech.

The Orange today introduced Scott Schafer as the head coach at a news conference on the hill. Schafer now has to contend with a difficult schedule in a new conference with a new quarterback and a new staff.

The challenge is there, and Schafer appears more than ready to take it on.
