Arrest made in Granby hit and run

FULTON -- 21-year-old Kurt McArdell, of 9076 Dinglehole Road in Baldwinsville, was arrested Wednesday by New York State Police in connection with a hit and run involving a car and bicycle on Tuesday.

McArdell was driving a maroon 2004 Volkswagen Jetta when he struck 59-year-old Sistine C. Callen, who was riding her bicycle on State Route 48 in the Town of Granby.  Callen is currently listed in in fair condition at Upstate University Hospital after suffering multiple fractures in the collision.

McArdell turned himself in to state police in Fulton on Wednesday afternoon.  He was charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving a serious personal injury and with failure to safely pass a bicycle.

He was released with appearance ticket and is due in Town of Granby Court on January 28th.
