AUBURN -- Dogs seized from a situation of incredible neglect are recovering after being taken into custody on Monday.

The dogs' fur was so badly matted they had problems walking. The dogs are all between ages 5 and 8, and have been groomed and placed in isolation.

The Finger Lakes SPCA of Central New York in Auburn said "investigators have never seen dogs in such horrendous conditions."

No charges are being pressed due to extraordinary extenuating circumstances.
