SYRACUSE -- The City of Syracuse Water Department is responding to a malfunctioning water pump that is causing neighbors on the Eastside  of the city to see brown tap water. "Its the color of dark, strong tea - I've never seen it this bad," said one neighbor who called CNYcentral.

City officials say there is a "minor problem with a pump that feeds that part of the city." Officials insist the water is safe and that running it for several minutes should clear it up. However, several neighbors say that is not working. City DPW crews are on the scene working to fix the problem with the pump.
