LOCKPORT (AP) -- Authorities say they found 60 small dogs in a Lockport house in upstate New York and the homeowner has been charged with a town violation of harboring animals.

The Niagara County Sheriff's Office said in a statement Saturday that the house, on Royal Parkway, was condemned by the town building inspector and more charges are pending.

The sheriff's office said the case is being handled by SPCA Niagara, the town dog control officer and the building inspector.
