SYRACUSE -- There will be leftover flurries but they should taper off by the afternoon and the Central New York area might have breaks of sunshine on Tuesday.

Most of the sunshine will be across the North Country but the clearer skies there will make the temperatures much colder.

There is a chilly northerly wind that is becoming northeasterly and that is creating some light lake snow in Syracuse and throughout the Central New York area.  The snow is expected to fade away by the afternoon.

Today’s high in the Central New York area is expected to be 24 degrees with a low of 18.

Light snow overnight could create a dusting to an inch of new snow by Wednesday morning.
