AUBURN -- An Auburn man is accused of stabbing a man in a home invasion.

41-year-old Anthony Zagoursky, of Chapman Avenue, is accused of breaking into a home at 14 Cross Street around 4:45 a.m. Friday.

Police say he stabbed 33-year-old James Nielson multiple times. He was taken to Auburn Community Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Zagoursky is charged with burglary, assault and criminal possession of a weapon. Police say he broke into the home with the intent to threaten Nielson and ultimately assaulted him with a knife.

The motive appears to stem from a separate fight earlier in the morning involving Zagoursky and other people the victim reportedly knows.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Bryant Bergenstock at (315) 258-9880.
