WALTON (AP) -- Authorities say a woman found dead after a house burned in upstate New York killed herself with a gun and they're still working to identify a second body found in the rubble.

State police say officers from the Delaware County town of Walton who'd gone to the house Tuesday as part of a criminal investigation heard two gunshots from inside and found a woman dead. But they had to leave without the body because of rapidly spreading flames. Troopers say Thursday the fire was set.

They've identified the woman who shot herself in the head as 48-year-old Debra Sundstrom, who lived at a different address in the town.

The name and cause of death of the second person haven't been determined.

Walton is 120 miles northwest of New York City.
