SYRACUSE -- 1,900 women are taking over the DoubleTree Hotel in East Syracuse for Amy's Slumber Party, celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.

The event, hosted by Amy Robbins of the 93Q Morning Show, gives women the chance to get out of the house and spend some quality girl time with friends.

"It's just a blast. You get to come and drink and hang out with your friends and get pedicures, and look at the cool things that they have set up for everybody, dance," says Ashley Kurtz, a guest at the sleepover. "It's awesome. The greatest thing. There's no drama here, it's all women."

The party features manicures, dancing, psychics, karaoke, and shopping. It is also an opportunity for local businesses.

"We heard that it's a lot of fun. A lot of women just having a great time," Tami Schanbacher, President of Flour Girl Bakeshop, said. "And we thought, what a perfect event to come to. It's inside, it's wintertime. Let's do it."

The event started with 300 women it's first year, and Robbins thinks she understands why it is so successful.

"Women are so busy. I would say 90% of the women here have families," says Robbins. "They have kids. They're running around. They never really think about doing something for themselves."
