SYRACUSE -- Onondaga County Sheriff’s detectives made four arrests late last week in connection with a 2008 robbery of the Burger King on West Genesee Street in Geddes.
Onondaga County Sheriff Kevin E. Walsh reports that 30-year-old William Grant, 25-year-old Craig Loniewski, 23-year-old Michael Mantor and 23-year-old Brett Poli have been charged with first degree robbery and first degree and criminal use of a firearm, both felony charges.
Grant was the restaurant manager and Mantor was employed as a cook at the time.
Walsh says that on February 20, 2008, deputies responded to the Burger King to investigate a robbery where an armed gunman reportedly made off with nearly $4,000. The suspect allegedly ordered all of the employees into the walk-in cooler while he forced Grant to empty the registers and safe.
Detectives recently developed information that led to the identities of these four suspects.
They allege that Grant and Mantor planned the robbery and coordinated with Loniewski and Poli. Loniewski is accused of being the driver while Poli is accused of being the armed gunman.
All four suspects were arraigned in the Town of Geddes Court.
Grant remains at the Justice Center with bail set at $2,000 cash or bond. Poli is lodged at the Justice Center with bail set at $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond. Mantor was release after posting a $50,000 bond. Loniewski was released to the Pre-Trial Release program.
All four suspects are scheduled to return to court on March 4.
