SARATOGA SPRINGS (AP) -- Officials at an upstate New York college that locked down its campus following a man's threats against a student say the suspect has been caught.

A notice posted on Skidmore College's website Wednesday morning says officials have been told by Saratoga Springs police that the man being sought by authorities has been apprehended. No details have been released. Messages left with police haven't been returned.

The police department earlier Wednesday identified 49-year-old Lance Leonard as the man who threatened to harm a Skidmore student and himself. That prompted college officials to lock down from Tuesday night until early Wednesday morning.

Authorities say Leonard's last known address was in Cuttyhunk, an island off the coast of Massachusetts. Police said he was known to be transient and may have been traveling in New Jersey.
