The Big East came to an end tonight.

SYRACUSE -- The Big East is no more. Tonight's Big East Championship game between Syracuse and Louisville marks the last game ever in the Big East conference. Syracuse fans came out tonight to watch the game from Rosie's on Tipp Hill. A sense of nostalgia was in the air as these faithful fans were witnessing history.
Deb Beyer has been an Orange fan her entire life and she does not want to see her hometown team leave the conference it helped start. "It's sad, it is really sad, because as long as I can remember I have followed this and them leaving Madison (Square) Garden is so tough. It is really tough for all the SU fans," says Beyer.
Madison Square Garden is a home away from home for the Orange. Bret Singer knows leaving this building against these teams will be a hard pill to swallow. "We won't ever get to play again in Madison Square Garden against Louisville, Georgetown, Villanova (and) teams like that," says Singer.
Lucas Sachel is looking forward to seeing what Syracuse can do against Coach K and the Blue Devils as well as other teams in the ACC. "Now we're going to have rivalries with Duke, North Carolina, North Carolina State. I'm ready for the change, I think, we're going to make some noise in the ACC," says Sachel.
The NCAA's are right around the corner with the first round starting Tuesday night. Jeff Funck is not worried about where they stand after tonight's game. "After yesterday's win, I think we're kind of set with a 4 or a 5 seed," says Funck.
Adam Cooper can't believe where they have come from since the end of the regular season. "I think they've really outdone themselves in the last few games, especially with the way that they were playing at the end of the season. I think that going into the nig dance that it's nice to have momentum and win lose or draw they have achieved that today," says Cooper. "either way they've come a long way already this week alone to really make some noise in the NCAA tournament," says Sachel.
