Syracuse Water Crews are hoping to have repairs done on a big water main break, before Monday morning commuters come back to work in downtown Syracuse.

The main break, at  Clinton and West Onondaga Streets, near a railroad overpass on  downtown's southwest edge, was reported before light  on Sunday morning. An old 12-inch pipe was leaking water onto the street. It's believed no residential customers were affected.

Water main breaks are not unusual with the ground heaving because of cold and thawing.  Syracuse Water crews headed to this break were diverted to another on Syracuse's Court Street first.  That one has been repaired.
