Tonight, outreach workers will scour the Syracuse area looking for homeless people under bridges in hospital emergency rooms and in other locations.

It's part of an annual census of homeless people, required by the U.S. department of housing and urban development.

On any given night, there are more than 400 homeless people living in shelters around Central New York.

Dr. Mary McLaughlin, a rehabilitation psychologist joined us for our Talk Tonight segments on NBC3 and CBS5 to talk about the way we can help the homeless in our community.
