NIAGARA FALLS (AP) -- More soldiers from a New York Army National Guard unit are returning home after being deployed to the Persian Gulf.

National Guard officials say about 80 members of the Syracuse-based 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team are expected to arrive Friday morning at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station.

The Guardsmen will arrive from Camp Shelby, Miss., where they were demobilizing since getting back from Kuwait. Most of the soldiers returning Friday are from western New York, while the others from Syracuse, the Albany area, New Windsor and New York City.

Other members of the 27th Infantry began arriving back home last month after a nearly year-long deployment.

29 soldiers of the 27th Infantry , who were supporting Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, returned to their families in early January after a year long deployment in Kuwait and Afghanistan.

Only a few dozen soldiers of the brigade remain at Camp Shelby. They'll be returning to their hometowns later next week.
