SYRACUSE -- A celebration Mass will be held in thanksgiving for Pope Benedict XVI at 12:10pm in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Syracuse on Thursday, February 28, the Pope’s last official day before his resignation.

Bishop Robert J. Cunningham will conduct the mass, and in a recent letter to the Pope, Cunningham thanked him for his eight years of Petrine Ministry, and promised the prayers of the Diocese of Syracuse on his day of resignation.

Parishes all over the Diocese will be remembering Pope Benedict XVI in their Masses tomorrow.

A mass will also be held at the beginning of a conclave where the College of Cardinals will meet to vote for the new Pope.
