SYRACUSE -- Two men have been indicted in connection with the murder of an 18-year-old man last February.
Carl Otts was indicted Wednesday on a charge of second degree murder in connection with the stabbing death of Wesley Valentine. An Onondaga County Grand Jury has also charged 23-year-old Christopher Barry of Troop K Road in Syracuse with second degree murder in connection with Valentine's death.
Valentine was killed outside the Red Light Lounge on North Salina Street on February 1, 2008. At the time police said that Valentine had gone to the club after receiving a text message from his girlfriend that she was being harrassed.
At the time of the incident only Otts had been arrested. He was originally charged with manslaughter. According to the Onondaga County District Attorney's office, Barry had been arrested in July on a charge of tampering with physical evidence in the case.
Today's indictment alleges that Barry had also participated in the murder of Valentine. Prosecutors say Barry and Otts were friends.
