Seneca County man was working on pickup truck
VARICK -- The Seneca County Sheriff's Department is investigating the death of a 23-year-old man from the Town of Varick. Deputies say Levi Karlsen was in a garage working on a pickup truck when the jack apparently slipped, trapping Karlsen underneath. He was found by his father Karl Karlsen, who jacked the vehicle back up and pulled his son out from underneath.
Levi Karlsen was taken to Geneva General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Deputies say the cause of death was massive trauma to the chest.
