SYRACUSE -- The 25th district's next Congressman is back after a weeklong trip to Washington, DC. Dan Maffei arrived at Hancock Airport Saturday evening after his orientation for Congress. Maffei said he and the other newly-elected representatives learned a lot about Congressional practices and procedures. They also learned the layout of their new offices.
Maffei says he thinks the other Congressmen-elect, both Democrats and Republicans, are all very pragmatic. He said "everyone wants to get stuff done."
While he was in Washington, Maffei got to meet with the current 25th district Congressman, Jim Walsh. Walsh is retiring after 20 years in office, and Maffei said he was honored to meet with him and discuss the projects Walsh has been working on.
