ALBANY (AP) -- The State University of New York Board of Trustees executive committee has named the SUNY vice chancellor and secretary of the university to stand in as chancellor.
John O'Connor will handle the job until a new chancellor is named. He's replacing Interim Chancellor John Clark, who's stepping down at the end of the year. O'Connor keeps his current responsibilities and is not a candidate for the top job.
The trustees say they anticipate appointing a new chancellor in the near future. Clark has been interim chancellor since Chancellor John Ryan's departure in May 2007.
