Warm weather didn't keep skiers and snowboarders away from ski resorts on Sunday.
Central New York ski resorts are trying to stay one step ahead of mother nature with a weekend thaw that sent temperatures to near 60 degrees in some areas.
The folks who run the Labrador Ski Resort say they pulled in plenty of business on Sunday, even with mild temperatures and skiers who were just wearing light coats.
Spokesman Rick Bunnell told Action News that Labrador had plenty of base to work with and that they made plenty of snow while the weather was colder last week in preparation for any possible thaw in the the weather.
Even though conditions on the trails were a bit wet, most skiers seemed to be enjoying themselves, but don't want the thaw to last too long and melt the base of snow that's already there.
The weather is expected to turn colder again during the course of the upcoming week and local ski resorts will then return to snow making themselves.
The two weeks surrounding Christmas are usually the busiest time of the season for local ski resorts and they obviously hope that old man winter will cooperate.
