LIVERPOOL -- Now's the time to party! For those who couldn't make it to Washington, DC to celebrate the inauguration, they brought the ball to Syracuse, including a party at the Westcott Cinema.
"I feel they made the right choice with Obama," Ken Krueger said.
Others dressed up to celebrate the swearing in of the 44th president at a red, white and blue affair at LeMoyne Manor in Liverpool. People who took part say they wanted to spend the historic event with others. The Tripp's of Syracuse captured the moment snapping a photo with a large card board cut out of President Obama.
"I feel really excited to be a part of this day in history," Monica Tripp said.
Among the crowd, there was pride and excitement
"I was very moved and overwhelmed and I'm proud to be an American at this time, Gwen Stokes said.
Some of the proceeds from the ball held at the LeMoyne Manor are going to the Altamont Program which helps people who are recovering from drug and alcohol abuse with different services.
