SYRACUSE -- Syracuse Common Councilor at Large Bill Ryan is running for Common Council President. He made it official today by delivering his letter of intent to Democratic Headquarters.

Ryan says that he plans to focus his campaign on three specific issues: public safety, reclaiming our neighborhoods one at a time and nuisance abatement. Ryan also intends to work in conjunction with Onondaga County to explore ways to share services. Ryan is the Majority leader and chairman of the Public Safety Committee.

Ryan says he hopes to be a voice for those who feel they have no voice and wants to make Syracuse a better place to live, work, play and educate children. He would also like to improve cooperation between the Common Council and the Syracuse City School Board.
