CHEEKTOWAGA (AP) -- A car wash employee tossing out trash is credited with saving a man who apparently fell into a large garbage bin outside one of the company's suburban Buffalo locations. A Delta Sonic employee found the man in the trash bin at the Delta Sonic car wash in Cheektowaga Thursday afternoon, when temperatures were in the single digits.
The man police described as elderly was lapsing in and out of consciousness when he was found. He was taken to a local hospital in Cheektowaga. His name, age and condition weren't available. It wasn't known how long the man was in the trash container. His car was found idling nearby.
Delta Sonic employees said he had been seen picking through the garbage before and had been asked to stay away.
