NEW YORK (AP) -- Two members of Congress are calling for a federal investigation into Ticketmaster for sending fans who wanted Bruce Springsteen tickets to its own ticket reselling Web site that had much higher prices.
Senator Charles Schumer of New York and Rep. Bill Pascrell of New Jersey said Sunday that the Federal Trade Commission should get to the bottom of it.
Tickets for Springsteen's upcoming tour went on sale at 10 a.m. Monday, and many fans who went online to buy tickets were immediately directed to Ticketmaster's reselling site, TicketsNow.
Ticketmaster CEO Irving Azoff has apologized and says the company will no longer direct fans to the subsidiary.
