LIVERPOOL -- We're answering your questions about a popular park. A viewer asked us what was going on at Sainte Marie among the Iroquois. The park always shuts down during the winter, but this season there are a few more cut backs. No meetings are being held in the building. Instead, volunteers are meeting at the County Parks office.
Parks Commissioner Bob Geraci says, "What we're trying to do in this department is find ways to save energy and by that token, of course, you're going to save some money. One of the things we decided was that it was too big of a building to heat in the winter."
In addition to keeping the building closed, the Parks Department is cutting back on snow plowing during the winter and grass mowing in the summer by about 10%.
