Update: The Onondaga County Sheriff's Department says the suspect who robbed the Shop City Wine and Liquors store has also robbed three other stores in the past few days. Sheriff's Detectives believe the man is responsible for robberies at Michael's Craft Store in the Northern Lights Plaza on Thursday night, the Payless Shoe Store in the same plaza on Friday, and the Domino's Pizza on Teall Avenue later on Friday.
Witnesses say the suspect left Shop City in a red SUV-style vehicle. Syracuse Police were later able to locate the suspected vehicle and recovered some of the proceeds from the robberies near the vehicle.
Shop City liquor store robbed in broad daylight
The Onondaga County Sheriff's Office is looking for the man who robbed a Lyncourt liquor store Saturday afternoon. Shop City Wine and Liquors was robbed just before 2 pm. Sheriff's deputies say the suspect walked into the store and showed a weapon. The suspect then got into a struggle with the clerk, and took off with an unknown amount of money.
Deputies say the clerk was not hurt in the struggle, and no customers were in the store at the time. Witnesses have been helping investigators.Sergeant Michael Dickinson said, "It was unusual in that with the number of patrols in the area, we're surprised we didn't have the individual shortly there after but it is an unusual time of day for this type of crime."
