As Syracuse China's workers head toward the unknown of the unemployment line, many are hoping for the best while preparing for the worst. The company says it is helping to train workers for other jobs, and has brought in counselors to help employees update their resumes.
Many of the company's employees have worked at the Lyncourt plant for years and say they never thought they would have to be looking for a job at this point in their lives.
At the end of last year, Libbey Corporation announced they would close the factory. They are planning to move the operation overseas.
Syracuse China has announced they will be keeping the plant open until April 9th. 275 people will lose their jobs at that time.
Maintenance and shipping will be there until about June to close down the place and get the orders out.
