SYRACUSE -- Beginning Monday, WSTM and WSTQ are joining forces with WTVH, CBS 5. Our parent company, Barrington Broadcasting has entered into a Shared Services Agreement with Granite Broadcasting, which owns WTVH.

What that means is Granite Broadcasting will continue to own the WTVH broadcast license, but WSTM and WSTQ will handle the day to day operations of all three stations.

Together, our companies and stations will focus our combined resources on making the stations more efficient while bringing you the news that is most important to Central New Yorkers. We plan on providing newscasts at times not currently programmed with local news and expand our news at other times. This will make it more convenient for you to get Central New York news and information

The agreement between WSTM/WSTQ and WTVH will also help reduce costs, and will result in the reduction of some staff positions during these challenging economic times.

WSTM, WSTQ, WTVH, CNYcentral.com and Weather Plus remain committed to bringing the latest news and information that’s most important to our viewers and readers. .

We thank you for your loyalty to all three stations over the years and we will continue to bring you the high-quality newscasts you have come to expect.
