OSWEGO -- The Oswego City School Board has authorized the district superintendent to enter into an agreement with the City of Oswego Police Department to provide a resource officer in the high school for the remainder of the year. The agreement must be approved by the Oswego City Council later this month.

The district had eliminated the resource officer position from its budget two years ago. A district spokesperson says its something the district has been talking about for a while. Just before winter break, a fight and some rumors and threats associated with that incident raised concerns by students and parents about safety at the school.
