SYRACUSE -- It was a record day at the annual "St. Baldrick's Day" head shaving fundraiser at Kitty Hoyne's Irish Pub. The event earned more than $300,000 dollars, money which will be used to help children stricken with cancer.
Now in its fifth year, the St. Baldrick's Day festivities even continue to grow. David Hoyne, owner of Kitty Hoyne's and one of the founders of the event, says five hundred people turned out and had their heads shaved this year. "Everybody is touched by this and they're doing it for the right reasons," Hoyne says.
