DEWITT -- New York's other Senator is not giving up on New Process Gear.
The plant's owner, Magna International, says it will shut down the DeWitt plant but, Senator Charles Schumer has been working on securing federal money to help them keep New Process Gear open. And, he says there are still talks going on.
"The union and the management are still working together...I'm, still, holding the federal money in case an agreement is reached...maybe that will help bring them together" said Schumer.
Union workers have twice voted down contracts designed to keep the plant open.
