Director reassures on shelter's status
CNY SPCA's Executive Director Paul Morgan, in an interview with Action News says the Mattydale animal shelter put out its 'we might have to close' warning because monetary donations dropped to almost nothing in the first three months of the year, with more animals being turned in--all blamed on the bad economy. Morgan says that since the appeal, the public has been very generous and the financial situation is no longer precarious. He also reassures that, even if the shelter would be forced to close, the animals there would be adopted out or sent to other shelters, but not euthanized.
