Aims at protesting deficit spending, more taxes
CAMILLUS -- The Syracuse area will be hosting a tax protest 'tea party', similar to one held in Charlotte, North Carolina over this past weekend.
The American Family Association, which calls itself a 'pro-family advocate', is organizing close to 2,000 protests nationwide. The name comes from the colonial Boston Tea Party, when tea was thrown into the Boston Harbor as the English tried to impose higher taxes on the commodity.
The local 'party' is set for Camillus Town Hall on tax day, April 15th, at noon. For more information go to www.teapartyday.com.
