The Syracuse China plant closing adds several hundred more job seekers to the community. Dr. Rich O'Neill, psychologist at SUNY Upstate, says attitude will help people who've been laid off get back into the work force: guilt about 'it was my fault'
or 'they let me go because I was doing a bad job' is a negative which O'Neill says impacts job seeking efforts, and even though it may seem like a time to be negative, the positives will get the new job. O'Neill also advises getting recommendation letter writers to stress good performance, and for job seekers to stress skills learned, that could be applied to future employment.
