SYRACUSE -- Firefighters spent about an hour and a half battling flames on Syracuse's north side Monday night. The fire started just after 8:30 in the 600 block of Pond Street, near Carbon Street.
Firefighters say it started on the outside and burned its way inside, which made the job a little tougher for firefighters. Crews also had to be rotated out a few times, because of the hot weather.
There were no reports of any injuries.
Six people lived in three apartments in the building. They can't go home tonight because of extensive damage to the building.
